What it covers
The mental processes behind a working day
Three mental processes sit under everyday performance: attention, memory and executive function. The session works through four common struggles at work, using scenarios the room will recognise.
- The Emotional Hijack: why we react before we think, and how to regain cognitive control
- The Decision Trap: why even smart people make poor choices when fatigued
- The Motivation Gap: the real reason we procrastinate, and how to overcome it
- The Productivity Paradox: how constant digital overload slows processing speed

What participants gain
Knowing when to pause, wait or act
Participants leave able to recognise what is going on in their own thinking, and what to do about it. That might mean pausing before they react, or sleeping on a decision until tomorrow.
- How to regain control after an emotional hijack
- Why fatigue degrades decisions, and when to wait
- Practical ways to close the gap between intention and action
